PERSPECTIVES of GYNAECOLOGICAL CANCER PATIENTS DURING COVID PANDEMIC


In this study we aim to evaluate the impact of the COVID pandemic on gynaecological cancer patients and the patients’ attitude and experience in terms of modifications of their cancer care. 

Evaluating the depression and anxiety scores of gynaecological cancer patients during the pandemic is the secondary aim of the study.

Participation in this study is completely voluntary. If you decide not to participate there will not be any negative consequences. Please be aware that if you decide to participate, you may stop participating at any time and you may decide not to answer any specific questions. 

There will be no specific question about your private information such as name, surname or identity number etc. You may fill the survey either by an online survey that your doctors provide to you, or use the hard copy survey forms given to you. 

The researcher will maintain the confidentiality of the research records or
data.


National Survey on Outpatient Communication Experiences.


All women who are attending a gynaecology outpatient appointment (for any reason) in The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, St James’s Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Galway University Hospital, Cork University hospital, Waterford University hospital and Belfast City Hospital are invited to participate in this National survey.

The findings will help to inform policies for doctor and patient communication at outpatient clinics.

Laura Brennan

Laura died on the 20th March 2019. The ISGO remember all of our women effected by gynecological cancers, those whose stories have been heard and those who remain unheard. Like Laura the ISGO is committed to protecting the future of our young generation from cancer and providing excellent care for those women and their families who are and continue to be impacted by gynecological cancers.

The Laura Brennan Award


“The Laura Brennan Award will be presented on an annual basis by the Irish Society of Gynaecological Oncology to a patient or member of the public as recognition of outstanding achievement in the areas of patient advocacy or patient and public involvement in research. Candidates can be nominated by any active member of the Society. Nominations will be assessed by the executive council of the society and members of the PPI group.  The award will bestowed after  an open ballot. “
